How many acupuncture sessions will I need?

The number and frequency of sessions vary with your individual situation. Mrs Zhang discusses this after the initial consultation and reviews the approach with you over time. Acupuncture appointments can be booked for 40 to 50 minutes or for 60 minutes.

Is acupuncture painful?

Mrs Zhang uses fine, sterile single-use needles. You may notice a brief pinch, pressure, warmth, or tingling when a needle is inserted. Tell her how you feel during the session so that she can respond to your feedback.

Can I combine multiple TCM treatments in one session?

A 60-minute session at CHF 156.00 covers one selected method: acupuncture, Tuina massage, or cupping. Moxibustion, ear acupuncture, or TDP heat lamp therapy can be added in 5-minute units at CHF 13.00 each. Mrs Zhang discusses which methods are included in your appointment.

Which concerns can I discuss at a TCM appointment?

People contact the practice about concerns such as pain, sleep, digestion, menstrual or menopausal symptoms, and support while trying to conceive. Mrs Zhang's main areas of practice are acupuncture and herbal therapy. The first visit is used to discuss your situation and the TCM methods available at the practice.

What should I expect during my first visit?

Your first visit begins with a 20 to 30 minute Chinese diagnosis, which costs CHF 60.00. Mrs Zhang discusses your concerns, health history, current medicines, and ongoing medical care, then observes your pulse and tongue. Depending on the appointment booked, a method such as acupuncture or an herbal consultation may follow.

What are Mrs. Zhang's qualifications?

Mrs Zhang is a TCM therapist who studied Traditional Chinese Medicine in China. She has more than 30 years of clinical experience in China, England, and Switzerland and has practised in Switzerland since 2017. She is recognised by EMR and ASCA under ZSR number A100263. Her main areas of practice are acupuncture and herbal therapy.

What languages are spoken at the practice?

Consultations and treatments at TCM Praxis Töss are conducted in German and English. Mrs Zhang can discuss your diagnosis and treatment plan in either of these languages.

Is acupuncture safe?

Mrs Zhang uses sterile single-use needles and asks for feedback during the session. Tell her immediately if you feel unwell or experience unexpected discomfort. If you have a medical condition or take medicines that may affect treatment, discuss this with your medical clinician and Mrs Zhang before the appointment.

Can TCM be used alongside conventional medicine?

Tell Mrs Zhang about your current medicines, diagnoses, and ongoing medical treatments during the consultation. Do not change prescribed medicines or medical care without speaking to the clinician responsible for them. Questions about conventional medical care should be directed to your doctor or pharmacist.
