Cupping Therapy in Winterthur Töss

During cupping, Mrs Zhang places cups on selected areas, most often the back or shoulders, and creates suction inside them. The skin and superficial tissue lift into the cup. The sensation is usually a firm pull or stretch; the suction can be reduced or a cup removed if it feels too strong.

Cupping commonly leaves circular red, purple, or brown marks that resemble bruises. Their colour and duration vary with the skin, the area treated, and the level of suction. The marks fade gradually.

Tell Mrs Zhang before treatment about blood-thinning medication, a bleeding disorder, fragile or irritated skin, or any recent injury in the area. Cups are not placed over broken or infected skin.

Cupping may be used on its own or as part of a session with acupuncture or tuina massage. Point placement and suction are chosen after discussing your symptoms and checking the area.

People often ask about cupping when muscular tension or back pain is part of their concern. Persistent, severe, or unexplained pain should also be medically assessed.
